ZooLA, which stands for Zoo Live Auction, is held every other year by the Women’s Board of Lincoln Park Zoo. It is always a special evening, so special that this year Nancy Kelley left her warm, sunny life in Palm Desert, California, to come to blustery Chicago to participate in bidding that raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars for the zoo.

Zoo supporters gathered in a popular Chicago club for cocktails and hors  d’oeuvres before beginning to bid on  “rare, luxury”  packages, including the privilege of naming two of the  Zoo’s Chilean flamingos, a Lake Michigan yacht cruise, a week-long vacation at a Jackson Hole home and a Boka progressive dinner for four.
