The Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) kicked off its 90th anniversary at their 43rd Annual Columbian Ball. Not only was there a surprise drone show commemorating its iconic upcoming exhibits, but there was also a celebration for all of its rich history that has been feeding museum visitors with knowledge for years.

“MSI is both a world class museum and a testament. It is a testament to humanity’s quest for knowledge and excellence; to our determination and courage; and to our ability to work together to achieve what we once thought was impossible,” said Pat and Kelly Basu, Columbian Ball Co-Chairs.

The event brought together a diverse array of science enthusiasts and supporters who altogether helped raise $1.3 million towards MSI’s commitment and dedication to fostering future generations of science leaders and innovators. MSI’s future is driven to encompass a world where science and innovation bring progress and help transform lives.

After a lovely dinner the guests were surprised with an outdoor drone show presented by Sky Elements Drone Shows. The show featured some sneak peek images into upcoming exhibitions like The Blue Paradox, which will shed light on the current global issue of plastic pollution in the ocean. The guests also engaged in an illustrious 90-year history with thematic design and experiences.

“The night was a magnificent celebration of our remarkable 90-year journey. It showcased our enduring commitment to fostering innovation, inspiring future leaders and addressing global challenges like ocean plastic pollution through exhibits like The Blue Paradox,” said Chevy Humphrey, President and CEO of MSI. “With gratitude for our generous event co-chairs, Pat and Kelly Basu, our sponsors and our unwavering community support, we are poised for an even brighter future, where The event brought together a diverse array of guests, supporters and science enthusiasts
