The love of handbags unites the fashion obsessed, disciplined minimalists, and everyone in-between. I was lucky enough to moderate a panel discussion at Neiman Marcus Oakbrook Center for Women’s History Month in March. Behind the scenes, the brand experience team and the panelists were all swooning over the Cult Gaia Hera knotted rhinestone mini bag. That’s the beauty of bags, they cross generations and appeal to people of all personal styles.

Those who have spent the last few seasons shopping their closet, wearing the trusted bags that have served them well, might want to plan a lovely afternoon of lunch and bag shopping as the shapes, colors, and embellishments this spring are simply dazzling.

On a recent trip to New York, I stood awestruck on the main floor of Saks Fifth Avenue, completely smitten with bags from Prada, Loewe, Bottega Veneta, and Saint Laurent. It was magical.

Closer to home, a gorgeous new resource for Hermes, Chanel, Christian Dior, and other highly coveted collectible bags opened recently.

Called Caviar and Chevre, after the signature leathers of Chanel and Hermes, this Hinsdale boutique is beautifully curated by Smreti Didwania. This chic dynamo travels far and wide to find the most wanted bags each season.

Smreti has transformed a small storefront into an absolute jewel box of a boutique. It’s an appointment-only experience, during which the shopper and the bags they’re interested in are all that matters. What a treat to be able to turn off outside distractions for a bit of time and find the perfect bag. Caviar and Chevre offers classic neutrals, pretty pastels, and bold bright colors, all in an inviting environment with a lovely expert on-hand to advise. Find out more and book your appointment at caviarandchevre.com.

Shop the boutiques, vintage stores, market stalls on holiday, or your closet shelves, just treat yourself to the simple joy of carrying your favorite bag this spring.
