It’s going to be a whirl of weddings all summer long and guests are pulling out all the stops. This is the time to pull the vintage Yves Saint Laurent out of the closet, take the jewelry out of the vault, and test all shoes for danceability. Why? Because brides just want to have fun and they’re bringing their nearest and dearest along for the ride.

It feels like every ballroom and boat has been refreshed over the last few years. Floral designers are doing dazzling work, transforming already beautiful spaces into true visions. Even coffee service and late-night snacks have been given an upgrade as they might now arrive via an adorable Italian truck that’s been converted to food cart.

With so much fun to be had against these photogenic backdrops, each wedding is a chance to celebrate the unity of people we love and to stage epic photos and memorialize the moment.

The recent wedding of Sophia Richie and Elliot Grainge was documented in real time across social networks with millions around the world reacting to the looks. Lots of summer 2023 weddings will be taking their cues from this and encouraging guests to get in on the posting fun. Adding to your feed won’t be considered upstaging the bride. It will be helping the algorithm.

All of this is to say that if your dressing room is not home to fabulous vintage or something smashing in your dressing room, it’s time to hit the shops. Designers are meeting the moment with exquisite dresses that look dreamy, travel well, and will become treasured pieces in your collection forever.  See you on the dance floor.
