Winter had not quite arrived when the Founders’ Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago celebrated its 10th annual Winter Wishes holiday cocktail party at a private Chicago club. However, the board’s wishes were realized in the raising of more than $575,000 for pediatric medicine and research.

Little wonder that more than 400 people appeared for the celebration. Not only is the venerable Children’s Hospital one of the most “lovable” of Chicago institutions, but the Founders Board, established in the 19th century, is also one of the city’s most distinguished organizations.
