Lurie’s Dinner on the Bluff and Pro AmTournament

The Founders’ Board of Lurie Children’s Hospital raised over $1.8 million at its 63rd Annual Dinner on the Bluff and Pro Am Golf Championship.  Over 500 guests sipped the signature cocktail, “The Birdie provided by Blue Ash Farm, and dinner overlooking Lake Michigan at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff.  Sophie Goodwillie and Maribeth McElveen served as Co-Chairs of the super successful two day celebration of Lurie’s accomplishments.

The evening highlighted Mental Health Access FORE Every Child and featured patient speaker Leo sharing his personal story about the positive impact of access to mental health care, alongside his doctor, Dr. John Parkhurst. The evening Dinner on the Bluff was chaired by Annie Barlow and Alex Murphy with presenting sponsor Wintrust, leading sponsors including the Murphy Family, Sophie and Doug Goodwillie, Kayne Anderson and Pasquesi Sheppard, LLC, and generous contributors such as John O’Donnell of Johnnie-O all in attendance.

The following day, the Pro Am Golf Championship brought together 275 golfers and pros for a day of competitive play and crowned the 63rd Annual Pro Am’s newest winners of the June Seaman Trophy: Kevin Stineman, Dan Barlow, Dan Waters and Steve Moffat who were joined by pro Gideon Traub.

Funds raised in the both events added to the Founders’ Board $5.5M commitment to Lurie Children’s Hospital and the Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities. Through the Magoon Institute, Lurie Children’s is addressing the widespread and urgent need for treatment access and improved quality and responsiveness for all kids, especially those in communities experiencing the greatest health disparities.
