Education can transform the life of a child. The Chicagoland Lutheran Educational Foundation (CLEF) is actively part of that transformation every day.
CLEF brings dedicated teachers, support staff, well-equipped facilities, textbooks, and supplies to maximize the impact of teaching. It also provides continual reinforcement of educational information open so that children get the most from their educational experience.
CLEF was formed in 1993 by 16 Chicago-area business leaders who wanted to ensure that children in Chicago continue to have access to Lutheran values-based education. This nonprofit organization‘s mission is simple: to empower urban Lutheran schools to deliver innovative, quality education in a Christian environment.
CLEF provides funding to 20 Lutheran schools in Chicago and offers a range of programs
that augment school services. CLEF also supports students through scholarships.
CLEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funding scholarship support, resources, programs, and consultative services to a community of 20 Chicago-area Christian schools. Ranging from pre-K to high school, these schools offer rigorous academics and enriching educational experiences in a values-based Christian environment. Thanks to the generous support of our Board of Directors, who cover the cost of CLEF’s operating expenses, 100 percent of every donation funds programs and services that directly benefit our schools and the students they serve.
CLEF’s staff is committed to upholding our vision that children in Chicagoland have the opportunity to experience Christ’s love and grace through a high-quality, Christian education.
