Cindy Galvin, right, with novelist Deborah Goodrich Royce in Winnetka’s newest restaurant, Pomeroy. As owner of Maze Home, among the cluster of  superbly chic shops in one of the area’s premier shopping destinations, Cindy was ideal to welcome the new French bistro to the extraordinary community. The occasion was the publication of a book by her seasonal Watch Hill, Rhode Island, neighbor, best-selling writer Deborah Goodrich Royce.

Deborah Royce’s Ruby Falls, was praised by The New York Times as “what a reader wants a psychological thriller to be.” Flowers by Nancy Chase at Pomeroy were bracketed by Deborah’s book; lunch was followed by a book signing at Cindy’s nearby Maze Home.

If Deborah’s is a familiar face to seasoned viewers of television daytime drama, she starred in several soap opera classics before moving on to other creative activities.

Among the nearly 100 attending were Classic Chicago contributor Katie Freiberger, Virginia Bobins, Kitty Freidheim, Barbara Garner, Maggie Manners, Cindy Smith, Marilyn Wirtz and others, including those pictured below.
