The lovely Jeanne Gang, pictured at top, is founder of Studio Gang, an architecture and urban design firm with practices in  New YorkSan Francisco, and Paris, as well as Chicago. Now a youthful 61, Ms. Gang established the firm in 1997.  Known for her apartment towers, first coming into wide attention with Aqua Tower, which at the time of its completion was the tallest building in the world designed by a woman. Although Aqua Tower soon lost that distinction, it was to the nearby St. Regis Chicago, which too was designed by Studio Gang. The lady is also known for “designing with an emphasis on sustainability and on social justice, and has designed a number of academic and public buildings.”

New Yorkers love Jeanne Gang’s Richard Gilder Center in their city. If you subscribe to The New Yorker and keep past copies around, try digging through for the May 12, 2017 issue to find a great Jeanne Gang article.
