A Glorious Equestrian Afternoon
By Megan McKinney
On one idyllic Saturday every second September, philanthropist M.K. Pritzker joins the Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in hosting the Evergreen Invitational, an invitation-only equestrian event, which has become one of the area’s most sought-after tickets of the even numbered fall seasons; this year it was presented by The Wood-Prince Family.
The 2016 grand prix show jumping competition and luncheon drew more than 600 guests to the Pritzker’s Evergreen farm in Bristol, Wisconsin. Guests were able to witness nationally ranked riders compete for the $25,000 Junior/Amateur Owner Classic and $75,000 Grand Prix prizes. They also enjoyed browsing through the “Promenade of Shops.” And for driving enthusiasts, automotive sponsor Lake Forest Sportscars displayed Ferrari sports cars, offering test drives.
Northwestern Memorial Hospital Woman’s Board members Meredith Wood-Prince and Beth Coleman, were co-chairs of the 6th biennial event, which this year raised $1.4 million in sponsorships and commitments to support traditionally under-funded women’s health programs at Northwestern Medicine.
