Time to refresh with smashing gowns and other evening options as the fall social season swings into high gear. This is a wonderful year filled with flattering shapes, lovely colors and delicate embellishments that will make any choice a forever favorite. Resist the urge to wear a simple ball skirt and top, and choose to truly dazzle while greeting friends and smiling for photographers.
Many of the world’s top design houses have experienced upheaval in their creative teams recently, but several of our favorites continue to helm their own houses and their creations are just delightful, absolutely divine. Their collections reflected their own passions and brought unique visions to the runway.
Dimension at Carolina Herrera
Mrs. Herrera was inspired by the idea of multidimensional beauty. She explored and employed various techniques to create interest on the surface of the garments. From applique flowers to tulle accents and even pockets that enhance the silhouette of a beautiful silk wool polka dot dress, her work is as lovely and refined as always with a freshness that delights.
Luxe Eccentric at Monique Lhuillier
Channeling her seasonal muse, Talitha Getty, the designer took a “more is more” approach. This led to some extraordinary pieces, including a black lace gown with delightful floral appliques.
Opulence at Naeem Khan
For your most formal invitations, may we suggest something from Naeem Khan and his family’s 100 years of experience with embroidery? The off-the-shoulder brocade gown with the full skirt is one for the ages.
Regal at Andrew Gn
Inspired by a portrait of icholas II, the last emperor of Russia, even the day looks in this collection proved to be an eloquent argument against fast fashion and street style in favor of true artistry. The evening looks are exquisite, the sort of dresses that turn heads and incite swoons.
Enjoy your evenings out on the town this season — we’ll be watching for your own gorgeous looks.
