It’s St. Paddy’s Day
The only place to be on St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago is Division Street
By Megan McKinney
Not just Division Street, but the one supergreen block between State and Dearborn Streets: Butch McGuire’s, Mother’s, The Lodge Tavern, She-nannigan’s, Hopsmith, you know the turf. You’ll probably be there all weekend, but that’s no reason to miss the big day itself. They cleared the street for today’s Shamrock and Roll festival in front of The Lodge—live music, bagpipers, Irish dancers, beer and booze tents. You’ll may be out there soon. But you’ll want to return to the Division Street strip on Monday—and indoors to celebrate on the real March 17.

They’re waiting for us.
It will take all day to enjoy that block alone.
And it is ALL Green.
Why go anywhere else ?
There is still She-nannigan’s.
And Mother’s.
