Although it seems like yesterday, the Women’s Board of the Chicago Zoological Society was formed 25 years ago, and the ladies recently celebrated their anniversary with an even more venerable institution, the last-weekend-in-April Bookfield Zoo Whirl.
In a joint sponsorship with the Board of Trustees, co-chairs were Stephanie Bryan Kangas of the Women’s Board and William C. Kunkler III of the Board. The evening’s emcee was ABC 7 Chicago news anchor Judy Hsu. John P. Grube is Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Dr. Stuart Strahl is CEO and president of the Chicago Zoological Society, which gained more than $1.2 million in support of the zoo’s animals, as well as conservation and educational programs from the popular event.
