Chicago always has something to offer for every season of the year. Every year there’s discussion among the inhabitants of the Windy City, as to which is the best season to experience Chicago. Summer is usually the top pick to really experience Chicago, the ability to walk around the city and really take in the environment of the surrounding neighborhoods. Summertime is the best – taking in the inviting aromas of backyard grills of the neighborhood and seeing what the people of the city are cooking up. There is an annual event in a neighborhood that’s located in the heart of Chicago, it really captures the summer spirit of Chicago and everyone under the sun is welcome.
Pilsen Neighbors Community Council (PNCC), a nonprofit organization established in 1954 located in Pilsen and the Southwest side areas in Chicago, proudly announces its 52nd annual Fiesta del Sol festival, which marks 52 years of celebrating culture and tradition. The four-day family-friendly, summer festival is the largest Latino festival of its kind in the country, which also offers free admission. The funds raised from the festival, help serve for PNCC’s investment through its annual scholarship program, as well as the organization’s yearly community organizing efforts.
Chicago, Illinois Fiesta del Sol. Dated 1974.
The Fiesta del Sol festival will offer live entertainment, amazing food, plenty of activities for children, art exhibits, a soccer tournament, performing arts, and carnival rides. The PNCC is proud to announce that all the expositions will be open to the public, where festival goers will have the opportunity to obtain valuable information and guidance about important issues, such as housing, college workshops, free immigration consultation with attorneys, art-performances, and much more. Some of these expos will take place in-person and virtually.

Fiesta Del Sol grew out of grassroot movements in the Pilsen community and continued to grow over the years. The festival became a block party that just grew over the years and is now celebrating 52 years of that initial block party, which is now a mile-long festival. A definitely one-of-a-kind, family-friendly, alcohol-free festival…made for the community. The 52nd annual Fiesta Del Sol will take place July 25-28, starting Thursday: 3 – 10 p.m., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.. Located at 1400 W. Cermak Road.
