Costume Council’s 7th Chicago Men’s Fashion Awards

The 10 winners of the Chicago Men’s Fashion Awards, hosted by the Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum, arrived at the Museum’s terrace amid cheers from the 200 sleek and chic guests. President Maggie Morgan and Co-Chairs Rose Kallas and Dustin Erikstrup presented their awards as each winner stepped out of a Range Rover supplied by Howard Orloff Imports, and were escorted to the podium by Costume Council members.

Every year, they receive over 40 nominations for the Chicago Men’s Fashion Awards. Erikstrup describes the process of narrowing down these deserving candidates: “The honorees are selected based on their expression of personal elevated style—how the individual mixes texture, size, shape, color, and pattern to create their own unique perspective on dress.”

After deliberation, the final selection for 2022’s Men of Style includes Carmen Rossi, D’Ontace Keyes, Danny Miller, David Murga, Frank Rubel III, Jackson Miranda, Matthew Rodrigues, Prosper Bambo, Sam Sanchez, and Zac Rodriguez.

To celebrate the honor, winners and guests alike enjoyed an evening of food and drink, including specialty martinis and Manhattans, generously donated by Hubbard Street Inn, Lirica, Moes’s Cantina, Offshore, Molly’s Cupcakes, and Al and Pam Capitanini. WGN’s Glenn Marshall served as the evening’s MC.

The evening’s proceeds benefit many aspects of the Council’s work. Morgan explains, “Our mission is to continue to build relationships in the community and fundraise to support the 50,000-piece costume collection of the Costume Council.”
